NOAH Dzvokora was crowned the Harare Classic Senior Men Body-building champion at 7 Arts Theatre on Saturday.

The Family Fitness Gym based Dzvokora was outstanding as he beat a strong line-up that had defending champion Gedion Teguru and Nigel Maphosa among several others.

Dzvokora, who previously won several titles, was at his best and did well to take the silverware and pocketed US$3 000. “This good performance at the Harare Classic will give me confidence ahead of the big one — the Zimbabwe Nationals — and it is everyone’s wish to win every contest during the calendar year.

“If it is your year you should maximise it and I am thankful to all those who have been rallying behind me,” he said.

“ . . . I will be Mr Zimbabwe and will go to South Africa as I look forward to fight for a pro card.

“The competition was very tough but I think I came to this show ready and prepared and that’s why I managed to win.

“It’s all about hard work and I want to thank my coach, friends, relatives and my family for supporting me throughout this journey.

“Last year I failed to win the title but this time around all my condition and mind was on point.” In the men’s physique Blessing “CC Banks” Sithole won the contest to pocket US$1 500. In the women Bikini fitness, Rashome Lylla Khan clinched the title to walk home US$1 200 rich as Momoeh Qoray won the women’s wellness category. Tarirai Chirume one of the organisers said he was happy with hosting the Harare Classic and thanked all the sponsors who came on board.

“To all sponsors, athletes, attendees, and everyone who made the Harare Classic a massive success — thank you for your power, passion, and dedication.

“This stage was lit because of you. For those who didn’t take home the crown tonight, keep grinding and stay hungry — the Harare Classic is here to stay. Remember, champions are made in the fire of persistence. Until next time, keep lifting, keep pushing, because the grind never stops,” said Chirume.
