IT was a midnight clash like no other when a Victoria Falls woman went full Tyson on her husband, biting his ear and yanking his privates during a violent domestic meltdown.
Blessing Kachenga (29) of Mkhosana, Victoria Falls, was dragged before the courts and sentenced to six months behind bars after the brutal attack on her husband in the early hours of May 25, 2025.
According to prosecutor Portia Moyo, the couple got into a heated argument over an undisclosed issue at around 2AM.
“In a fit of rage, the accused bit the complainant once on the right ear and then pulled his private parts,” said Moyo. “The complainant reported the matter to the police, leading to the arrest of Kachenga.”
The court heard that Kachenga’s attack left her husband in pain and shock, as neighbours woke up to screams and confusion in the middle of the night.
Kachenga was convicted and sentenced to six months in prison. However, three months were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour, while the remaining three months were commuted to 105 hours of community service at the Victoria Falls Magistrates Court.
The judge described her actions as “degrading and unprovoked” and warned that violence has no place in resolving domestic disputes.
Residents in Mkhosana were left stunned.
This shocking incident comes as authorities continue to raise alarm over rising cases of domestic violence in both directions.
Let this be a lesson to lovebirds: when tempers flare, keep your teeth and hands to yourself, or risk your romance landing in the courtroom.
