ED SLAMS “SHADOWY ELEMENTS”! Social media abusers warned: “Zimbabwe won’t be divided!”

Blessings Chidakwa in Gokwe

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has come out guns blazing against the abuse of social media, warning faceless agitators not to mistake Zimbabweans’ silence for weakness.

Addressing thousands at the 45th Independence Day main celebrations at Mutora Open Grounds in Gokwe, ED didn’t mince his words — praising patriotic citizens while tearing into “shadowy elements” pushing divisive agendas online.
“I commend you, my dear fellow compatriots, both at home and abroad, for remaining vigilant, patriotic and steadfast, never allowing ourselves to be misled by shadowy elements with dubious opportunistic agendas,” the President declared.

With the crowd fired up and flags waving, ED’s call for unity hit home. He urged Zimbabweans to rise above online chaos and focus on building the nation from the ground up.
“Let’s remain united, developing our nation. We all have a duty to work for Zimbabwe. Let us be known for working in our community and our country, and to unite people,” he said.

The warning comes as Zimbabwe battles a wave of online disinformation meant to destabilise communities and sow discord. But ED made it clear — this is a battle for hearts, minds, and national pride.
“We won’t be swayed by clickbait lies,” one attendee shouted. “Zim is not for sale!”

The message? Loud and clear. Unity over chaos. Progress over propaganda. Zimbabwe won’t bow to keyboard warriors.
