THE Miss 2k Bulawayo pageant, which aims to discover and celebrate talented young women aged 15 to 24 from the Ekasi community, is scheduled to take place in Bulawayo.
The event is scheduled to take place on 23 November 2024 at McDonald Hall in Mzilikazi suburb.
It will be held under the theme: “Traditional on Black Tie,” combining elements of traditional and red-carpet events.
The companies sponsoring the Miss 2k Bulawayo pageant are Edit Jockey (PKM Studios), SK Mobile Beauty Clinic, and Autism Awareness Ambassadors.
Founder and organiser of Miss 2k Bulawayo, Nothabo Bhebhe, said the event will consist of various categories such as beauty, talent, personality, cultural, and photogenic.
Each category will have its winner and an overall winner will be selected Miss 2k Bulawayo along with princesses.
The winners of the Miss 2k Bulawayo pageant will receive a cash prize of US$200, crowns, sashes, gift hampers, and a year-long reign as Miss 2k Bulawayo.
“The idea or inspiration behind Miss 2k Bulawayo was to create a platform for young individuals from Ekasi to showcase their beauty, talent and creativity while promoting empowerment and self-expression,” said Bhebhe.
She said the participants will be young individuals who will be modelling and competing in various categories.
She also said they plan to have industry experts and thought leaders in the fields of fashion, beauty and youth development as judges and guest speakers.
“I believe the event will have a positive impact on the lives of youths boosting their confidence, providing a platform for self-expression, fostering a sense of community and networking opportunities,” she said.
Bhebhe said they plan to host more events like Miss 2k Bulawayo with the goal of making it an annual event.
They also plan to host the Kota Festival second edition.
