Actor and fashion designer Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa has hinted that she is yet to see any financial settlement from her former husband, Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Black Coffee, despite a court ruling in her favour following the finalisation of their divorce.
The actor went live on Instagram to share life updates with her fans. There she engaged her fanbase and indulged them by answering random, sometimes personal, questions about her life.
During an Instagram live session, Mlotshwa responded candidly to fans who assumed she had already come into significant money, shutting down speculation with characteristic wit.
“Who said I’m a millionaire? Nothing has been reflected on my account. No money has gone through. I’m still living my life; I’m just like you guys,” she said, laughing off suggestions that the celebrated DJ had been slow to pay up.
Even though Enhle did not go into detail about her divorce or intimate relationships, she did not hold back when it came to addressing her previous marriage and what it took to walk away.
“I don’t take nonsense. The last time I took nonsense was when I was married. And then I decided not to take nonsense anymore. I then decided to get a divorce. From that day, I have not been taking nonsense,” she said.
When fans asked whether she would consider marriage again, Mlotshwa was measured but open.
“Do I want to get married? Yes, I think so. It will happen organically.”
She also pushed back on suggestions that she has been speaking ill of her ex, noting she has not addressed him publicly in years.
“Social media is the one which is obsessed with the artiste,” she said.
Mlotshwa and Black Coffee, born Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, entered into a Zulu customary marriage in May 2011, followed by a civil ceremony in 2017. The couple’s eventual split became deeply personal, with Mlotshwa later citing “two children by two different women” as the breaking point in their marriage.
In November 2019, Mlotshwa announced their separation through an emotional Instagram video, telling followers she had filed for divorce and asking for privacy as she navigated what she described as “a very, very, very rough” time.
Speaking to 702’s Relebogile Mabotja ahead of the divorce being finalised, Mlotshwa reflected on the emotional toll of the relationship, saying: “I’m proud of how I handled my marriage. I never cheated, not once, until the day I decided to leave – because I could no longer take the punishment to myself. —Drum
