Beauty therapist-turned-entrepreneur, Munyaradzi Zulu, has committed himself to uplifting models.
He said his move was part of his vision to expand his business by employing youthful and disadvantaged people who wish to develop the sector.
The entrepreneur recently launched a modelling agency called Miss FunHouse, which is open to employing talented young underprivileged models.
In an interview with H-Metro, Zulu said the beauty pageant and women empowerment programme is set to scout for new talent.
“I have noticed that the sector is not very common, so I have committed myself to uplifting those who cannot do it on their own. By nurturing young talent, we ensure that people with talent are not left behind,” he said.
He said although the sector does not allow for one to be a full-time model, there is a need to invest in the sector.
“The informal sector has proved to be very profitable these days. I believe if there are proper structures, young women will be greatly empowered. It is not always about working in the office, but one can earn a decent living once they grab these opportunities.”
“It is my wish to continue developing talent. Given the resources to improve the sector, a lot of women will find themselves being their own employers,” he said.
