UPCOMING versatile artist, Tamia Chataika, says she will not throw in the towel despite challenges she continues to face in her career.

The 23-year-old described her musical journey as bumpy, but said she will remain on course pursuing her dream.

Tamia said she has faced a lot of challenges since she started recording.

“Not getting enough funding to create and put out good quality content is a challenge. People are more interested and drawn by content that has good quality, which requires a lot of money. My musical influences are Feli Nandi, Jah Prayzah, Tamy Moyo and the late Chiwoniso Maraire,” she said.

The versatile artiste started her own brand three years ago.

“I used to do backing vocals before I started my own music. People around me advised me to do something of my own, so I started writing and first recorded in 2019.

“I got the opportunity to share the stage with Tamy Moyo, Holy Ten and Zimpraise.”

Tamia believes she has come of age and her music will speak for itself.
