THE Eastern Region Soccer League (ERSL) will hold its AGM on March 15, where key decisions regarding the upcoming season will be finalised.
The meeting is expected to provide a clear roadmap for the league, which will get underway on March 22.
With 16 teams already having paid their affiliation fees, the league is poised for an exciting start.
However, some teams are yet to complete their payments and resolutions on these and other matters are expected during the AGM.
The league has also undergone significant leadership changes following the departure of Davison Muchena, who has joined ZIFA as a board member.
Wisdom Simba has taken over as the region’s shairman.
He previously served as the league’s vice chairman.
Patient Dube is now the league’s vice chairman and Benjamin Chindima is the secretary-general.
The league has co-opted two new executive members, Simbarashe Mandishona and Rodgers Banda to compliment Mollen Makumbe, Rodgers Banda and administrator Fungai Munyoro Chingaira.
“We are going to have our AGM on March 15,” said Simba.
“By that date, we are sure we will have a clear picture of how the league will proceed. For instance, we have 16 teams that have paid their affiliation fees, and some are still to do so.
“The league’s focus on transparency, safety, and inclusivity is expected to set a positive tone for the year ahead. In preparation for the new season.”
