RESIDENTS of Esigodini last week came together for a common purpose as they gathered to pray for black spots in the area where lives have been lost in traffic accidents.

They realised they had to ask for Godas intervention as they noticed that every Sunday in the last three months, accidents claiming peopleas lives happened in the area.

Different Christian denominations buried their differences and gathered to pray for safety in the roads especially in Esigodini area.

The prayers were organised by the chairlady of Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe of Mzingwane District Chrislet Ncube.

a?People from different churches of Esigodini gathered on 15 October to pray for safety in the roads especially in our area.

a?It was really disturbing and peopleas lives were in danger as we noticed that in the past three months, there have been serious accidents in Esigodini almost every Sunday.

a?We are grateful as the turn-out was good with approximately 80 people,a? said Ncube.

She also revealed that they were happy their prayers were answered and since the day in question, they had not had any accidents.

a?The evil spirits were really at work because the accidents were not understandable and worse on Sundays, the day of worship.

a?It had become a common thing that on Sundays you receive death news and it would be something to do with accidents.a?

One of the latest accidents which left Esigodini residents shaken is the one which happened on 2 October where three passengers died on the spot while several were seriously injured.

A bus, belonging to Inter-Africa Bus Services coming from ChipingeA was involved in a head-on collisionA with a Mazda Demio car coming from Bulawayo.
