H-Metro Reporter

FORMER detective and prosecutor, Thomas Mabwe, who died in the United Kingdom on Saturday was diagnosed of colon cancer, barely a month before his death.

Mabwe, who rose to become a Detective Assistant Inspector, had relocated to the United Kingdom with his family.

“He was diagnosed of colon cancer on December 10 and he died on Saturday,” a relative told H-Metro.

“He was a fighter and battled right to the end.

“He was a genuine lawman – both as a detective and prosector – and he made his impact on both fronts.

“He was someone who was well loved by our rural community in Murehwa.”

Shiela Samakomva, an influential member of that community, who is also a relative of Mabwe, took to her social media platforms to mourn his death.

“Gone too soon muzukuru wangu Thomas Mabwe, madarirei Nyakudirwa, ndichatamba nani, ndarwadziwa muzukuru.

“Baba Shingi chii, where are you, zvafamba sei, you were a fighter so aggressive koapa zvafamba sei hazvisi kutambirika.

“Ndarwadziwa ini waendepi kani, zvafamba sei, ndiani acharwa hondo dzangu?”
