Ex-head risks losing house over arrears

TIMOTHY Ncube (not his real name) from Cowdray Park is an example of those men who sat by the pool of Bethesda crying out for Godas hand to touch and heal them. Unlike the Biblical men, however, he hasnat received his healing yet.

Known back in the day as one of the famous headmasters that ever walked the rural areas of Lupane, Ncube, an educated man who was highly respected by both his family and friends was caught in a painful situation which changed his life for the worst.

A source that claims to know him intimately told B-Metro about the tragedy in his life.

a?He used to be rich and was a respected educationist.A I donat recall exactly which school it was but it was in the late 80s to early 90s when he was a famous headmaster well known for disciplining school children and his school maintained high pass rates,a? the source said.

However, one day changed his life. It is believed he tried to discipline a child whom he beat up and ended up killing by mistake.

The parents of the child demanded that he brings their child back to life or he was going to lose his life forever.

One would think losing life could have been the best thing to happen to him but not the family of the deceased. They were not going to make it easy on him.A They allegedly made him mad.

The source added that his friends and relatives each distanced themselves from him over the years. The only possession heas left with is his house which is said to be haunted in the neighborhood and he is isolated.

B-Metro visited him at his house a a four roomed structure in the midst of very tall grass with scrapers, making it look like a dump site as an old scrap car is parked outside.

He told B-Metro that his fall from grace was because of Satanists.

a?I was once a headmaster at a school in Lupane. I was the best in the region until Satanists began haunting and attacking me for no reason.A They first took my house in Entumbane when they chased me out like a dog. I had no choice but to abandon it and move to this other house in Cowdray Park that I also own. Moving here has been difficult especially with the same Satanists still after my life,a? he said.

He has no easy day.

B-Metro went to the council to inquire how much the house owes and the council confirmed that the house was in arrears to the tune of $1 251.67.

Seemingly, the isolated man risks losing his home due to the water bill.

Asked if he knew anything about this he seemed confused and just said all he was aware of was that the council had made sure his water was not running for more than a decade now.

The increasing debt to the council could lead to his house being seized by the council, this was confirmed at council.

a?Usually if the amount owing gets to $2 000 summons are sent to the one owing but if nothing is done we then try to find out what is really the cause for one not paying their bill before we seize their home.a?

Isnat it enough that the old man lost his reputation back in the days? He seems to risk losing his home to the city council if nothing is done to assist him.

Neighbours said the man had not set foot in an institution for him to be checked if he was mentally stable.

a?He never leaves this neighbourhood and we have never heard of him being in any institution and this worries us, what if he needs mental treatment?a?

The old man went on to speak about how the so-called Satanists were making his life unbearable.

a?They torment me time and again, for example if I place something outside my house they take it and bring it into the house. This has led me to have separate plates a the ones I use inside the house and a kitchen I made outside,a? said Ncube.

What if these Satanists that he claims are gunning for his house are the city council because he is not paying his bills?

He survives on food crumbs which he picks from the nearby dumpsite and says that most people were afraid of him hence they did not even attempt to help him. .
