A BEVY of 15 beauties is set to participate in the Miss Chitungwiza pageant at Damview Hotel on August 6.

The 15, aged between 16 and 26, have been drawn from across the town to compete for the prestigious title.

In an interview, event director Munashe Ngoso said the pageant was aimed at promoting the rights of girls and young women.

“We are excited to host yet another episode of the Miss Chitungwiza pageant at Damview where we will crown our new queen.

“Our main aim is to empower young girls, advocate their equality and occupy them with something that takes them away from ending up in early marriages,” said Ngoso.

The pageant was also growing to become a hub for grooming girls who can challenge for the national title. “We are also identifying potential models with long-term goals of taking up modelling in Zimbabwe.

“The girls are groomed and inspired to believe in themselves with the determination to become successful in the profession,” said Ngoso.

The organisers have improved on their presentation and he promised a quality pageant come August 6.

Upcoming artists, including Bev City, Kayslie, Miss TK, Stiiv, Seven Cadre, Skeycrew and Trigar Kays, will provide entertainment at the event.

The event is being sponsored by Shamwari Yemwanasikana, Go Fit Zim, Chico Fashions, Munie Dios and Fusion Events.
