ALL we can say is that it has been an explosive start to the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

Leaders CAPS United and defending champions Scottland are already dictating the pace.

It is a season that has produced 15 goals in Week One, the same number in Week Two, and 14 in MatchDay Three. Week Four produced 17 goals.

Under the guidance of Takesure Chiragwi, CAPS United, who have had a bright start to the season, sit at the top of the log table with 12 points from four games. Champions Scottland, who dispatched newboys FC Hunters 3-0, to take their points tally to eight, are in second place.

Hunters had not lost a game in their opening three matches. They also had not conceded a goal.

But, it all changed on Sunday when Khama Billiat scored twice to lead the champions to a comprehensive win.Scottland are tied on eight points with third-placed Dynamos, who are coming from a draw against newboys AGAMA.

Also on eight points are Ngezi Platinum Stars and Simba Bhora, who both played goalless draws against Chicken Inn and Highlanders.

Simba Bhora are yet to concede a goal. Highlanders have not lost a match but they have not won a match either. They have picked four points from their opening four games.

Coach Benjani Mwaruwari is already expressing concern over his charges failure to convert their draws into wins. It’s at home where Bosso are not firing.Collecting two points on the road against Dynamos at Rufaro and Simba Bhora in Shamva represents good results.

However, their failure to win at home represents failure.
