TIMES of frustration ended for Dangamvura-based women soccer side Faithdrive as then hammered Aces Academy 6-0 in a National Super League match played in Harare last Saturday.
National Under-20 star Maud Mafuruse netted five goals to propel Faithdrive Queens to an easy 6-0 victory over Aces Academy.
Crucially for Faithdrive, the weekend’s victory helped them to gain two steps up the ladder from 11th place to ninth.
Mafuruse, who struck five of the six goals, had all the reasons to walk tall after putting one of her most inspired performances for the Nelia Musikavanhu-owned side.
On Sunday, the Admire Mahachi-coached side, Faithdrive went on to beat another Harare side, ZRP Queens, 3-2 in their own backyard.
ZRP were the first to open their account through hard-working Mutsa Chinhoyi in the 15th minute and she latter doubled the score line in the 27th minute to make it 2-0 for the visitors.
However, their celebrations were shortlived when Maud Mafuruse found the back of the net.
Concilia Madotsa sealed the victory after scoring a brace in the 77th five minutes before the final whistle. Madotsa had a blinder and she was behind all the goals in their first match.
