A FAKE Doek & Slay all-women’s party was held in South Africa at the weekend and the organisers of the popular show, who hold the rights to the name, have warned scammers to stop using their brand name.
A South African-based man, whose name is yet to be known, hosted a ‘Doek & Slay’ misrepresenting to the people that this was just the same as the ones which are held in this country and have become a massive hit with thousands of women.
The organisers told H-Metro that it was not their style to host such a “low-class event.”
The Doek & Slay organisers said they do not have any plans to host their event in Cape Town, South Africa, at the moment.
“The guys were advertising their event saying it will be the same as our event here in Zimbabwe. It is an insult to our brand as we are known for hosting high-class Doek & Slay events.
“The event that was held over the weekend in Cape Town was not well organised, we’re still trying to find the man behind the event.
“Even our patrons were not pleased with the event.”
The organisers apologised to their patrons for any confusion which might have been caused by the fake Doek & Slay party.
“We wish to unequivocally state that this event had absolutely no affiliation with our official Doek & Slay organisation.
“Our brand, Doek & Slay is a unique and carefully curated experience and we are committed to maintaining its integrity.
“We are deeply disappointed by the unauthorised use of our concept and any potential confusion this may have caused to our valued community.
“The continued support of our loyal attendees and partners is highly appreciated and currently we do not have any intentions to host our events in Cape Town, South Africa.
“Please, be aware that any events not officially advertised on our official platforms are not associated with us.”
The first Doek & Slay show this year will hit The Odyssey in Kadoma on March 30 with Freeman and The Travellers Band featuring at the event.
It will then move to Mutare Sports Club on April 6 where the show will feature Freeman and Master H.
The first big one in Harare this year will be held on April 13 with performances from Intotal Band, Feli Nandi, Winky D and Iyasa.
The Gweru ladies will have their share of fun on April 27 with Freeman and Master H.
Then the show will move to the ZITF Main Arena, Bulawayo, on May 4 with Master H, The Travellers Band and Iyasa taking turns to entertain the crowd.
Doek & Slay loyal patrons are not happy with the fake show in Cape Town.
