THREE Harare masterminds allegedly behind the printing of fake Premier Soccer League VVIP access cards have been arrested in a development that may unearth a well-knit syndicate across the country.

The arrest of the three, Blessed Kadzima, a photographer and editor, Chamunorwa Muguti, a laptop and printer owner as well as a runner Alinajee Arubi, follows the dramatic arrest of six suspects at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday after allegedly trying to enter a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match between Scottland and Caps United using counterfeit VVIP access cards.

The six suspects arrested at Rufaro Stadium, following surveillance of a PSL Compliance team that was assembled by the acting PSL Chief Executive Officer Rodwell Thabe, were named as Rugare Kaondera (54), Wilbert Zindoga (47), Timothy Nerudzo (50), Charles Banda (37), Fungai Chikonyora (53) and Edith Mutambu (25), who is also a member of the Scottland media team as a statistician.

Sources said Chikonyora, popularly known as Charlie and responsible for collecting cash, was apprehended while attempting to flee Rufaro Stadium, likely after being tipped off, and he then led police to his three accomplices.

Harare police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza has been contacted and promised to give an official police comment in due course.
