DYNAMOS chairman Vincent Chawonza has expressed concern over supporters’ behaviour at football matches, revealing that crowd misconduct has already cost the club thousands of dollars in fines this season.
The Glamour Boys are facing disciplinary scrutiny following crowd trouble during a Castle Lager Premier Soccer
League match against Simba Bhora at Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe in May, a fixture that was abandoned before full time.

His concerns come amid a growing financial burden caused by fan misconduct, with the club having paid substantial fines arising from incidents such as missile throwing and other crowd-related offences during the 2025 season.
Just hours after appealing for restraint ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster clash between Dynamos and Highlanders, some supporters appeared to ignore his call as concerns over crowd discipline persisted.
The issue comes against the backdrop of the club having paid more than US$32 000 in fines during 2025. For many clubs, such an amount could significantly strengthen playing squads or be invested in other key areas of operations.
The Premier Soccer League’s rules and regulations provide for stiff penalties for offences such as missile throwing onto the field of play and pitch invasions.
“This season, clubs have been having a lot of fines, especially Dynamos, in 2025 we had US$32 700 in fines. I implore our supporters that let’s have a peaceful matches, let’s refrain from missile throwing, let’s continue to support football in high numbers. It’s 2000 even if you throw one missile, let’s refrain from throwing missiles and anti-football things,” said Chawonza, whose leadership has coincided with improved fortunes for a side that was battling relegation not long ago.
Chawonza said good behaviour at football matches helps market the game and ensures stadiums remain welcoming environments for families and children.
On Saturday evening, on the eve of the highly anticipated Highlanders-Dynamos encounter that ended in a 1-1 draw at Barbourfields Stadium, Chawonza addressed members of the Bulawayo Chapter of the club’s supporters at a city hotel, where he strongly emphasised the importance of discipline among fans.
“I implore all our supporters to refrain from violence let’s be good football fans, let’s support, let’s sing. Let’s create a safe environment for our families and children,” he said.
