Fastjet is Econet Victoria Falls Marathon official airline partner

OVER 5 000 runners from more than 40 countries have registered to participate in this year’s Victoria Falls Marathon, to be held on July 5.

Fastjet, which has been flying to Victoria Falls for over 10 years, will bring the award-winning fastjet experience to the marathon course through its water point located at the iconic Big Tree.

Runners will be welcomed at “the Big Tree Runway” water point with music, cheers and refreshments.

Fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson Mr Nunurai Ndawana, said: “The Econet Victoria Falls Marathon has firmly established itself as a premier event on the global marathon calendar, offering participants the unique experience of running across the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge against the breathtaking backdrop of the mighty Victoria Falls.

“As a key gateway to Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls holds strategic importance for us, connecting this iconic destination to Bulawayo, Harare, Johannesburg and Kruger Mpumalanga, and this partnership underscores our ongoing commitment to support the growth and development of tourism in Zimbabwe and across the region.”

Econet Wireless chief commercial and products officer, Ms Edith Matekaire, said: “Given fastjet Zimbabwe’s strong footprint in tourism and its extensive regional network, fastjet is a natural fit as a partner for the Victoria Falls Marathon.

“By enhancing accessibility through its well-established and reliable route network into Victoria Falls, fastjet will play a pivotal role in enabling greater participation from Zimbabwe and across the region.”

In the run-up to the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon, fastjet will host a pop-up booth in Victoria Falls on July 4, promoting the airline’s services and offerings.

Fastjet Zimbabwe is a multi-award-winning African airline that began flight operations in 2015.
