FC Platinum are reportedly on the verge of loaning out former captains Rahman Kutsanzira and Farai Mupasiri to teams of their choice before the 2018 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League kicks off.
Kutsanzira is a former Highlanders skipper while Mupasiri captained Shabanie Mine last season.
Both players joined the reigning local league champions in the build up to the teamas participation in the Caf Champions League campaign. The platinum miners were booted out of the African safari in the preliminary round.
According to a source, the players a despite their impressive profiles in the domestic league by virtue of being former captains of two well followed clubs a could find themselves out in the cold.
a?The squad is bloated and the coaches will have to let some players go by loaning them out to teams interested in their services. But the mention of Kutsanzira and Mupasiri in that list of players to be loaned out has got even the most experienced players in the squad rattled,a? said the source.
Club spokesperson Chido Chizondo said the technical team is yet to make a decision on which players will be loaned out.
a?We have not finalised on who is going and who is staying. The coaches are yet to decide who will be with us in the 2018 season but definitely we will communicate the final position before the transfer window closes on 31 March.
a?At the moment I am not sure (of the players to be loaned out) because the names havenat been brought to my office,a? said Chizondo.
FC Platinum is currently preparing for the new season under assistant coach Lizwe Sweswe in the absence of head gaffer Norman Mapeza who is recuperating at his Harare home.
Mapeza underwent a back surgery and could be out of action for at least three months. . .
