Feli Nandi, Freeman to perform at Chibuku Road to Fame finals

THE Chibuku Road to Fame national finals promise to be an exciting event at Glamis Arena in Harare on November 9, with a line-up of entertainers featuring some of Zimbabwe’s top musical talent.

Feli Nandi, Master H and Freeman, alongside the Chillspot Family led by DJ Fantan, Levels and Ribhe, are set to deliver captivating performances at what will serve as the after-party.

The winners of last year’s edition, 911 Band from the Midlands province, will join the artistes on stage.

The event celebrates rising musical talents and is expected to draw a large crowd eager to enjoy the entertainment and support the next generation of Zimbabwean artistes.

Ten groups from the country’s provinces will compete. They are Boom Jazz from Mashonaland West, Panhimbe Crew from Masvingo, Kweseka from Matabeleland North province, Vibrant Band from Manicaland province, Music 2 Music from Bulawayo province, Pilgrims of Christ from Mashonaland East, Fugees from Matabeleland South province, Afro-fusion group The Outlaws from Harare Metropolitan province, The Cousins from the Midlands province and Shanty Town from Mashonaland West.

This year’s edition is themed Bvirarira, Tshay’iNgoma.

Event organisers, Delta Beverages said preparations for the finals are on course.

“The 2024 Chibuku Road to Fame edition began on the 28th of September with provincial finals and is scheduled to conclude on the 9th of November. Preparations are underway for the national finals.

“The provincial finals have been met with a lot of excitement, delivering bonding moments for our consumers through extended drinking occasions,” organisers said.

 

All provincial winners won US$2 500 and they will now be fighting to land US$15 000 plus a recording contract for the overall winner. Second and third-placed contestants will take home US$10  000 and US$7 500 respectively. — @mthabisi_mthire
