adminZifa have raised concern over the roles being played by former chief executive officer, Henrietta Rushwaya, in the game despite fingering her for being the alleged mastermind of the match-fixing scam.
Things got to a head in recent weeks after former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona was reported to be among players alleged to have been in contact with Rushwaya.
Zifa chief executive, Jonathan Mashingaidze, announced then that they had sent a dossier to Fifa.
Musona then announced he will not play for Zimbabwe again until Zifa apologised for making such accusations. Zifa has provided Fifa with updates about the situation, but we cannot comment on the content of those updates,” Fifa says in response to inquiries from Kickoff.com.
“We are currently monitoring the situation. Please understand that we cannot speculate on the future at this stage and therefore comment further.”
Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns players, who include Zimbabweans’ Nyasha Muchekwi, Method Mwanjali and Esrom Nyandoro, were involved in an accident on their
way to a training camp in Swaziland yesterday.
The bus they were travelling in for their pre-season training in Mbabane collided with a car in Kempton Park.
Club PRO Kabelo Masito confirms no one was hurt in the accident and that the players and technical team have since returned back to Chloorkop.
“Yes it’s true that the bus travelling with the team was involved in an accident but no one was injured.
“The players and the technical team members are back at Chloorkop waiting for another bus to take them to Swaziland,” says Mosit — KickOff/Sports Reporter.
