Veteran filmmaker Stephen Masowe is reflecting on his 24-year journey in the industry.
Masowe, who has written six local dramas for ZBC since 2000, is still yearning for a huge breakthrough.
“I have been in the industry for more than 20 years but I am still looking for a big breakthrough.
“I did a hit street production which has 22 episodes.
“It is called Fidelis of the Siyoyo Zondi fame.
“I also did three productions in support of the government of which the first one was a Covid-19 awareness short play.
“The second one was a Unity Day short film and I have submitted a new short drama of about an hour 10 minute called Mwana Wevhu,” he said.
He reflected on 2024 as a busy year.
“It was a busy year for me because I was recording and editing this new series and for next year.
“I am working on a new project ‘The dawn of a new era’ which is a movie.
“It was not an easy task recording such a play as it required a lot of research since it targeted on the theme of Vision 2030.
“This year I did one movie Mwana Wevhu and it will be on air any day before the year ends.”
He has worked with Siyoyo of The Fidelis Fame and also Steven Mashingaidze as well as Salome Manyumwa who all featured in his previous projects.
“Sevanhu vakaitawo zvinhu zvakati wandei including ma projects supporting the Second Republic takambozama kutuma vaiti vane access but nothing promising is coming.
“I am appealing to the authorities kuti vatirangarirewo,” he said.
Maoswe produced Kurauone, Mawombera, Manyara, Zvinengozi, Nzungumuriva, Shamiso, Zibhodho and Muchabaiwa, among others.
