Aurthur Marara Motivation for Success
MY life changed the moment I discovered my purpose. My choices, my language, and my associations as well changed when I made this discovery. I have committed my life to helping people discover the greatness in them, and to help people realise their potential in life. My Whatsapp status, Facebook status carries my mission statement; “I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say, “Because of you I didn’t give up!” That is all that I want. Every day I receive countless messages from people who have been helped by the work that I am doing. I am always humbled by such, and it gives me the energy to go on. I have found my purpose, I have found my passion, and I love and enjoy doing what I am doing right now. I do not mind doing it for the rest of my life.
I do not need to go on vacation because my vocation is my vacation. This week, I want to challenge you to find your purpose. Your purpose once discovered will change the direction of your life.
Refuse to live and die a no body
Several people are going to live and die without ever knowing why they lived in the first place. I hope you will not be one of them. 7 billion people are on the planet today. It is quite interesting that within that 7 billion there is something unique within each and every one of them. There are no two thumb prints that are the same in the world. You are unique! Yet the mistake many people who form that gigantic number of population is to think that they are like everyone.
Some even give up on life and conclude that there is nothing more they can do with their lives except to just breath, get old and die. If you are really serious about succeeding, and personal growth, you need to reach a level where you get to be serious about discovering your purpose.
Find your space
The day that Nelson Mandela, the late Father Zimbabwe (Dr. JMN Nkomo), Simon Chimbetu, Proud Chinembiri (the boxer “Kilimanjaro”), Matthew Rusike, Jairos Jiri, Albert Einstein died several people died as well, but there is nothing that is know about them. There are several people who lived and died and you know nothing about them. Sometimes I drive past a graveyard along Simon Mazorodze Road, on my way to Star Fm for my show. One day I really got to think about the number of the graves in there, and possibly the identities of the occupants. I knew nothing about the occupants of the graves. I realised that many people are adding to the graves without adding value to the earth.
The only place some people will have their names written will be on headstones on their graves. Your name can be written on the sands of time. No matter how much you hate Steve Jobs, you can never take away the iPad, iPhone and Apple Company from him, no matter how much you hate Michael Jackson you cannot take away the “moonwalk” and his musical success from him. These people are among the other millions who found their spot in life, they found their passion, and they pursued it with all that had.
Move into your domain
Your domain is your area of strength. We often here so much about the word “kingdom”. It has two words; “king” – referring to a ruler and the word “dom” comes from the word “domain” which refers to a territory or your area of influence. In your domain you have strength, you have control and you have power. Many a times we forget our areas of strength and we move into our areas of weakness. No matter how prayerful I can be, I can never dare Floyd Mayweather, Mike Tyson or Manyuchi into the boxing ring. I will be beaten to death because I have moved into their domain. I can never dare Oliver Mutukudzi to a guitar or vocal challenge; I will be embarrassed because he is operating in his domain. Your purpose is tied to your areas of strength where you do things with greater ease, flexibility and flow. I write effortlessly, I communicate effortlessly, and I can also inspire and motivate people effortlessly, because that is my domain. That is what God has assigned me to do. I will not waste my time trying to pretend to be what God has not created and called me to be, and neither should you waste your time pretending. Find your domain, and be strong and effective it in it.
Fundamental questions to ask yourself
I like my profession as an attorney a lot. One thing it has taught me is to ask questions. If you want to grow, you need to learn to ask yourself questions. I want you to take your time and start thinking on how you can answer the questions below. Get somewhere to write, and answer each and every question carefully. I have personalized the question so that you can give personalized answers to the questions.
Why am I here on earth?
What is the unique that I can do with my life?
What is it that I alone can do?
Why was I borne in Zimbabwe?
Why did God make me a Zimbabwean (or whatever race that you are borne into?)
What is it that I want people to say about me when I am no longer around?
What is it that I want my name to be associated with?
What is it that wakes you out of bed every day?
What is it that when I think of I can’t find rest because I want to do it?
What is it that I can do effortlessly?
What is it that I can do without much thinking?
What is it that I do not mind doing for the rest of your life even if I am not going to be paid?
What is it that burns within me every time?
What is your sentence?
It has often been said everyone is a sentence. John. F. Kennedy will be remembered for sending the first man to the moon, Thomas Edison for lighting the world, Marconi for the radio, The Wright Brothers for enabling us to fly like eagles, Mark Zuckerberg for Facebook and so many more. What is your sentence? How is your story going to be summarised? What do you want to be remembered for? A person is always remembered for two things; problems you have caused and problems you have solved. What do you want people to say about you at your burial? What do you want people to say long after your human remains have decomposed? You cannot afford to pass through this earth as a non-entity. I want to you to write your sentence as you finish reading this article.
Start living
You were born to make an impact in your society. Before you can leave a legacy, you need to live. There are some people who believe that they are just living and waiting to die. What an approach! You were not born to die. You were born to live and make a difference in the world that you live in. A number of people are so concerned about leaving the earth rather than living on earth. You do not produce a lot of results if all that you are preparing to do is to leave the earth. Change your focus to living on earth. The legacies that you leave behind are determined by the quality of decisions that you make during your lifetime. Find your purpose, and make yourself useful in life and to life.
