THE Sanganai/Hlanganani/Kumbanayi World Tourism Expo 2025 officially opened its doors this morning, with a palpable sense of anticipation, particularly from first-time exhibitors who believe the event will be a pivotal moment for unlocking new business opportunities and placing emerging tourism operators on the global map.
This year’s edition has drawn significant industry participation, with a total of 409 confirmed exhibitors showcasing the diverse facets of Zimbabwe’s tourism and travel sector.
The breakdown of booked exhibition stands reveals a robust and comprehensive representation with Accommodation sitting at 65 exhibitors, followed closely by 79 Service Providers and Suppliers to the tourism industry, and 72 Rural and Urban councils.

Other key participants include 40 Travel Agents and Tour Operators, 42 Parastatals and Government Institutions, 31 Tertiary Institutions, and 25 SMEs.
The international flavour is provided by 8 Foreign Stands, alongside 11 Airlines and 13 Car Hire and Transport operators.
Among the new entrants is Platinum Peaks, a Victoria Falls-based company eager to make its mark.
The company’s Manager, Ms Tariro Bigazhi, expressed high hopes for their inaugural exhibition.
“Platinum Peaks was established in 2023. We provide accommodation in the form of self-catering apartments. We are located in Victoria Falls Estate. We offer two-bedroom apartments and three bedroom apartments
“So this is our first time to exhibit at Sanganai and I hope here at Sanganai, it will help us to market our product, to sell our product. As we provide accommodation, we sell accommodation. We also help our clients to sell. To do activities, we can book activities on behalf of them. We also do transfers.

We are a tour operator company. We do transfers for our clients. We can do transfers from Victoria Falls airport to town. Even local transfers, we can do that,” she said.
The optimism is further bolstered by strong international buyer interest.
To date, buyers from key markets including Japan, China, India, the USA, and the UAE have been visiting various sites in Manicaland.
The four-day expo is set to be a critical platform for networking, deal-making, and showcasing Zimbabwe’s vast tourism potential to the world.
