FIVE women have appeared before the Karoi Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beating a man following a brawl at a bar.

Shelta Svori (21), Charity Daison (26), Susan Maloyo (21), Natasha Mukota (24) and Monalisa Yona (25) are facing charges of attempted murder.

The State alleged that the women assaulted the complainant, Tichawirirana Manyoni with sticks all over the body following a misunderstanding at a local bar.

Manyoni reportedly suffered head injuries and collapsed as a result of the attack. He was ferried to the hospital where he was treated and discharged.

The women were remanded in custody to September 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe has encouraged members of the public to desist from using violence in cases of disputes but to resolve them amicably or seek third-party mediation.
