FORMER Highlanders star Xolani Ncube has turned back the hands of time with stellar performances which have mesmerised fans at Ascot Stadium this season.
Ncube made his premiership debut in 2009 with Hwange before moving to Highlanders. He has been the most exciting player at Chapungu this season, tearing opposition defences with ease using his searing pace and dribbling skills.
The Nkulumane-born winger who is enjoying his glory in the sun at Chapungu attributed his purple patch to hard work and support from the coaches and teammates.
a�?I am happy that my hard work is now being seen by people even though I am working to be a better player than I was before. I am now in my second season at Chapungu so I have settled well and the environment is conducive for success,a�? said Ncube.
On his future prospects, Ncube said he wants to help his club end the season in a respectable position.
a�?I am not chasing personal glory although being counted among the best at the end of the season will still be something to cherish. What I want at the moment is to help my team to rise up the log standings and end the season in a respectable position. A finish in the top eight is very achievable and we want to give our fans something to cheer about,a�? he added.
Ncube played for Highlanders in 2011 when Bosso were under Mkhuphali Masuku. He played with the likes ofA� Bruce Kangwa, Bruce Tshuma, Eric Mudzingwa, Gilbert Banda and Gift Lunga Junior.
After his stint with Bosso, the lively winger was lured to Beitbridge-based Town United by John Phiri who took him to Shabanie Mine the following season.
He the moved to Chapungu in 2015 together with other former Chinda Boys Blessed Mbavarira, Roy Mazingi, Allen Tavarwisa, Marvellous Dikinya and William Ngonya.
