Mguni, a sungura artiste said although he had composed many songs, he could not record the songs because of lack of resources.
He, however, said he was hopeful he would be able to mobilise adequate funding to enable him to record some of his songs.
Mguni said he had kept himself occupied by touring and playing at shows with fellow musician Chase Skuza in a bid to raise money.
“I have composed many songs during the past year, but I have failed to record because I do not have sufficient funds to do so. This has been very frustrating given the fact that I had started building my career soon after winning the provincial finals,” he said.
Commenting on winning the Bulawayo Road to Fame finals, Mguni said it was a good experience that provided a solid foundation for his career.
“The competition was great and I would not exchange that experience for anything. However, I am yet to realise the benefits of winning the provincial finals,” he said.
Mguni said he had been unable to pay the members of his band which also contributed to his inactivity in the past year. He appealed to well wishers to assist in cash and kind so that he could realise his dreams.
“I have not been able to pay the people that are working for me and that has been a huge blow on its own because I have not been able to stage as many shows,” he said.
Mguni commended Skuza for his positive attitude towards young up-and-coming musicians.
