A Former Shamva Mining Company employee, who was facing theft allegations, walked away a free man after all charges against him were dropped.
Fastino Ngoma was accused of walking away with a company vehicle that the mine had bought for him under the agreement that he would pay the money to the firm in instalments.
However, Ngoma left employment before making full payment for the vehicle.
Ngoma and Shamva Mining Company went for arbitration and he was ordered either to pay the outstanding amount of US$28 824,23 or to return the car to Shamva Mining Company within 21 days.
In turn the company was ordered to reimburse an amount of US$16 800 to him.
The court heard that company has since paid him back the money and he has returned the car prompting the State to withdraw the charges before plea.
