FOUR more suspects have been nabbed in the Mukuru Money Transfer Agency robberies in Harare and its surrounding areas in the past few weeks.
Joseph Bilson Makoni, Tatenda Madhirize, Ggis Siziba and Evans Mabvakure appeared before regional magistrate Tilda Mazhande.
The number of suspects who have been nabbed has now risen to five. Clever Chada appeared in court on Monday.
On the first count, it is alleged that on December 16, last year, the gang connived to raid and rob the Mukuru Money Transfer Glen View booth.
They went to Glen View Shopping Centre in a black Toyota Mark X which they parked outside the booth and confronted the complainant, Tawanda Tagara, who was on duty, serving clients while in the booth.
They fired shots into the air, pointed their guns at Tagara and stole US$1 839 and R2 350.
One of the clients, Proud Muchairi, lost US$950.
The gang also raised a Mukuru Money Transfer Mabvuku booth at Kamunhu Shopping Centre.
They stole US$1 374 and R22 000.
They also raided a Mukuru Money Transfer Booth at Manyame and took two cash boxes containing US$5 530 and Z18 700.
The gang also attacked a Mukuru Money Transfer Booth in Beatrice on Saturday.
They stole US$3500.
Chada was arrested after a tip-off. A search of his car led to the recovery of three Thunder T90 explosive dynamites, one Emex explosive dynamite and detonator cables.
