Four steal 39 bags of fertiliser

STEALING 39x 50kg bags of Compound D fertiliser worth $1 500 at Roscommon Estate in Chimanimani landed four men in court last Thursday.The quartet, Brighton                                             Mundizwisa (36), Tapiwa Mdenyika (35), Pedzisai Mukono (36) and Booker Sithole (47) pleaded not guilty to unlawful entry  into a premises and theft as defined in Section 13(1)(a) of the Criminal Law ( Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter (9:23).

Senior Chipinge magistrate, Mr Noah Gwatidzo presided over the matter.

Prosecuting, Mr Regis Mawarire, said on a date unknown to the State, but between October 8 and 10 this year and at Roscommon Estate in                                    Chimanimani, the four suspects broke into the estate’s storeroom and stole 39 bags of Compound D fertiliser.

“The four stole 39 bags of fertiliser and hid them at Justice Zifondo’s house. Zifondo is still at large.

“The matter was discovered by Moses Gambomi who was guarding the storeroom. He reported the matter to Gata Police Base in Chimanimani.

“Police attended the scene and carried out some investigations which led to the recovery of the 39 bags at Zifondo’s homestead at Saziya Village,” said Mr Mawarire.

The matter was adjourned to next Thursday for trial.
