YOUTH, Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Minister, Tino Machakaire, is offering free lessons for the youths who want to secure drivers’ licences in Hwedza.
Minister Machakaire said this is a part of a bigger programme to help the youths in the fight against drugs and substance abuse. The programme has also seen a number of youths graduating in courses which include Hotel and Catering and detergent making.
“We are trying to eliminate poverty as many people are having a hard time making a living because they don’t have the skills.
“We have managed to educate as many as we can, some now have drivers’ licences and others have graduated in different courses.
“These certificates are keys for them to unlock opportunities, they should use them to secure jobs in various disciplines,” he said.
More than five vehicles were dedicated to facilitate the driving lessons at no cost to the beneficiaries.
