The underprivileged in Mutasa South constituency, Manicaland Province, are set to receive free legal services after zanu-pf aspiring candidate for the constituency pledged to assist them.
Cde Misheck Mugadza said he was prepared to assist those who are facing litigation and others requiring legal services, but cannot afford the costs.
He said there was a legal expert who had been engaged to provide the legal services to people who are physically challenged and the less privileged.
“We have been offering various services including free medicals, but we have decided to offer legal services to the people of Mutasa South. I stay in Mutasa and I have been working closely with the communities for the past 28 years. I now know their needs,” he said. “I know a lot of people will come running for the legal services, but I would like to emphasise that the services will be restricted to orphans, the less privileged and the down trodden.
“As we speak, there is a legal expert whom we have placed on standby to assist those who require the services. We also have a medical practitioner who is working with people from Mutasa. We have an arrangement for people to access free medication.”
Cde Mugadza said he was disheartened to note that Chikanga Secondary School in Mutare’s high density suburb of Chikanga had no Advanced Level classes since its establishment.
He said he had since initiated the construction of an A’ Level block so that Chikanga Secondary School would offer Advanced Level classes.
“I initiated the construction of an Advanced Level block at the school. I was surprised to discover that the school does not offer A-Level classes and I therefore donated bags of cement towards the construction a classroom block. I also donated some bags of cement to Chikanga Primary School, which is also in Mutasa South constituency,” he said.
Cde Mugadza was optimistic that he would win when he battles it out with seven other candidates for a seat in the National Assembly.
“We are comfortable on the ground because our feet are firmly stationed. Our campaigns are going on well and we are satisfied. I am confident of winning because I have been working in and for people of Mutasa South for a very long time. From my experience, people are now interested in candidates who they identify with, in other words, they are interested in personalities rather than political parties.”
