FREEMAN TARGETS MAKHADZI, MASTER KG COLLABOS

Edwin Nhukarume
ZIM dancehall star Freeman says he is targeting working with Makhadzi and Master KG in the near future.

The chanter is set to share the stage with Master KG, Makhadzi, Sulumani Chimbetu, Feli Nandi, Jah Master, Mr Brown, and others, at JamAfro Festival slated for July 30 in the UK.

The chanter said he wants to use the festival to lure the South African stars.

“I hope, with this opportunity to perform alongside international artists like Master KG and Makhadzi, will give me a chance to make connections.

“It will be great to create relationships with artists like them because it is beneficial to my music career.

“It will also be great to work with Master KG or Makhadzi in the future,” he said.

The Gomba singer said it would be his first time to perform in the UK, with his band, and was looking forward to the event.

“This event means a lot to me since it’s also my first time to go to the UK with my whole band.

“Last time, when I had a chance to go to perform in the UK, me and my band members failed to get visas. “This time I hope it goes well,” he told H-Metro.

He is elated to be part of the show and has promised a great performance.

“It’s a great honour to be part of the festival. “There are many artists in Zimbabwe who also deserve to be part of this event, but being included there is an appreciation that I will cherish,” said Freeman.

“I am promising a solid performance from me and my team.”

Freeman is an award-winning chanter who got into limelight with the Joina City track in 2011.

One of the most successful collaborations he did is titled Ngaibake, featuring Alick Macheso.

He is among the top and consistent performers in Zimbabwe
