SELF-STYLED Kuwadzana prophet Aleck Mushowane, who was on the run after his initial appearance in court, was over the weekend dragged to court facing fresh rape allegations.
Mushowane was not asked to plead and a warrant of arrest, which was confirmed after his initial bail hearing, was revoked.
In the fresh charges, the complainant is fourteen years-old. The court heard that last Monday, Mushowane approached the complainant, who was standing at a gate with her friend.
He told them that he was a prophet who was willing to help the two spiritually to get good luck in life.
On the same day, at 5pm, the two girls went to Mushowane’s house where he indicated that he needed to have sexual intercourse with them for the spiritual cleansing exercise to be effective.
The two refused and ran back to their homes.
Two days later, Mushowane allegedly approached one of the girls again and asked her to accompany him to his house. He allegedly took the girl to his bedroom and demanded sexual favours.
She turned him down.
He offered her US$30 for the sex but she refused.
He then allegedly raped her. In the first case, Mushowane is accused raping another teenager, aged 19.
