A 20-YEAR-OLD gardener has been caged for 45 years after a chilling reign of terror against his employer’s 10-year-old daughter—raping her three times in cold-blooded attacks.
The nightmare began when the predator, trusted to tend the family’s garden, pounced on the helpless girl while they were alone at home. He gagged her with a cloth, pinned her down, and raped her, hissing death threats to silence her.
But his evil didn’t stop there. Weeks later, as the child shelled maize in the kitchen, he demanded sex again. When she resisted, he overpowered her, muffling her screams as he violated her a second time.
The final assault came on October 20, 2024, when the fiend stalked the girl on her way home from school. Dragging her into a gum tree plantation, he stripped and raped her—until the traumatised victim finally broke her silence, confiding in a neighbour who alerted authorities.
Guruve Regional Magistrates’ Court slammed him with the maximum sentence on three counts of rape, as prosecutors hailed the child’s bravery.
“This is a warning to all predators—justice will be swift and merciless,” declared the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ).
