MANICA DIAMONDS finally found the back of the nets but their first goal of the season in seven attempts was still not good enough to secure them victory after losing 1-2 to visiting Herentals at GreenFuel Arena this afternoon.

After striking first against the run of play, the Gem Boys could not protect their lead as the Students eqaulised before the break.

Their misery was compounded in the second half after the visitors added añother goal to clinch the tie.

Manica Diamonds coach Tafadzwa Mashiri expressed disappointment at their poor game management.

“This is a very disappointing defeat. We had a very good start and got the goal but could not manage to defend our goal.

“Our biggest undoing was the failure to manage the game as we conceded straight from the corner kick. That’s football and we move on,” he said.

The result leaves the Gem Boys anchored at the foot of the table and without a win.

Today’ Premieeship results:

Manica Diamonds 1-2 Herentals
Dynamos 1-1 FC Platinum
Highlanders 0-0 ZPC Kariba
