DYNAMOS goalkeeper’s coach, Gift ‘Umbro’ Muzadzi, cannot talk to the media given the prevailing circumstances at the Glamour Boys, club secretary general, Webster Chikengezha said.
Post Sport sought to talk to the celebrated former Dynamos goalkeeper on the sidelines of the just-ended Caf C Licence coaching course at Mutare Teachers’ College on Tuesday, but the dreadlocked gaffer could not go ahead after Chikengezha refused to have the goalkeepers’ coach interviewed.
“Given the prevailing circumstances at the club, I cannot allow him to talk to you. This is a decision that has been made by the board and I cannot be seen to be going against the board’s decision.
“If you want to work on the match preview, I think I can give you Lloyd Mutasa. You can call me tomorrow and let you talk to Mutasa,” said Chikengezha.
However, during some light exchanges with Muzadzi, the former Triangle goalkeepers’ coach laughed off suggestions that Mutare City Rovers could beat Dynamos when the two teams clash over the weekend.
“Dynamos is sea water, you cannot drink it to quench your thirst. They (Mutare City Rovers) are thinking that they will beat Dynamos. Oh, yes that is a big joke. Vari kutimba gomo ne ma piki (They are imagining the impossible),” said Muzadzi.
Responding to a question posed before he was gagged by Chikengezha, on whether he had any input in the alleged sabotage at Dynamos meant to ouster coach Paolo George Silva, Muzadzi said he had never at one point wished Dynamos lose match.
“Both as a player and as a coach, there was never a time I wished Dynamos could lose a match for any other reason. No. Dynamos is like my family and there is no way one can wish ill-luck on their own family,” said Muzadzi
