A five-year-old Nyanga girl was last week murdered and some of her remains were found on a mountain on Friday in another case suspected ritual murder.
The police confirmed the case on its Twitter handle yesterday.
“The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding a murder case in which remains of a five-year-old female juvenile were found 10/12/21 on a mountain in Nyanga on with some body parts seen scattered at the scene of crime.
“The victim, who had been reported missing on 4/12/21, was last seen in company of a male suspect (38) walking towards the suspect’s residence. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police station,” the ZRP said in the statement.
Last year another juvenile, Tapiwa Makore was murdered for ritual purposes in Nyamutumbu village in Murehwa.
His uncle and namesake, Tapiwa Makore, his herdboy Tafadzwa Shamba and a neighbour Maud Hunidzarira were arrested in connection with the murder. He was buried without some of his body parts, among them the head.
Meanwhile, the police are also investigating a robbery case which occurred on Friday night at Sonking Resources in Kadoma where five suspects got away with US$25 000.
The suspects were armed with four unidentified pistols pounced at Sonking Resources and attacked nine complainants who reside at the company premises. The suspects tied the complainants with shoe laces and shot one of the complainants on the armpit while demanding cash and ransacked the offices and stole a CCTV saver, a Samsung cellphone and US$25 000 cash.
The police also confirmed the arrest of Farai Mpunzi (40), Ndodana Sibanda (30), Mqondisi Sibanda (30), Aneli Sibanda (25), Obvious Nyoni (26) and Luckmore Ncube in connection with a case of murder which occurred at Bunyip Mine, Filabusi on Friday at around 7pm.
The six suspects, who were armed with machetes and spears, attacked Eric Mahlangu (22) over allegations of trespassing.
