A NEW uptown nightclub, Glow, has opened its doors at Golden Peacock Hotel.
The re-branded hotel bar will officially open its doors as a nightclub tonight (Friday).Club spokesperson and resident DJ, Chucky ‘Chucknosis’ Aisha, said the exclusive and spacious Club Glow was designed with international-standards in mind.
The club which matches, if not exceeds, the standards of Harare’s elite nightclubs like Club Amnesia (formerly Circus Nite Club) has a distinctive bamboo floor stage in the middle, while the ceramic white floor tiles covering the club give the room a magic feel when the lighting system is switched on.
The club has high-tech nightclub lasers, led lighting systems, fog machines and intercooler ventilation machines.
DJ Chucknosis said Club Glow which had previously been operating as the hotel bar would be open as a nightclub from Thursday to Sunday after 7pm.
The television personality and club DJ, Chucknosis, has been in the entertainment business for a while.
Popular for his R&B and hip-hop sessions, DJ Chucknosis commands a lot of respect on the turntables and is among the country’s top rated club DJs.
He said the club would on rotation also house several ‘unrated’, but talented local club DJs to give them a platform to showcase their skills.
DJ Chucknosis said on first rotation tonight will be DJ Saru, Qu3 and Otwice who traditionally are known to play at house-parties and small-time gigs.
“The idea is to create variety in Mutare. Mutare is a beautiful city with many international and regional tourists that pass through every time, so to have an uptown club like Glow of international standards is important.
“Our bar also serves international cocktails and our local beer prices have been reduced to accommodate local revellers,” said DJ Chucknosis.
