HAVING been fed up by his ex-wife’s continuous harassment and threats, a Penhalonga man last week approached the courts seeking a protection order.Biggie Chigunduru of Tsvingwe in Penhalonga dragged his estranged wife, Alice Makuyahundi, to court, accusing her of insulting and threatening him. He also accused her of vandalising his property.
Chigunduru told the court that Makuyahundi frequently visits his place of residence threatening to destroy it, as well as insulting his family.
“She is always violent every time she visits my place. The last time she came she damaged my car,” he said.
Makuyahundi (26) admitted that she had acted violently during her visits to Chigunduru’s residence.
She said it was not her intention to damage the car, but it was an accident.
Makuyahundi denied threatening to destroy Chigunduru’s place of residence.
Justifying her actions, she said she felt betrayed by her ex-husband who grabbed all the assets they had acquired together leaving her with nothing.
“I did not get anything, Your Worship, after our separation. I visit that place because we acquired it together,” she claimed.
She kept insisting that she only wanted her share of the assets.
Mrs Chigodora granted Chigunduru the protection order and barred Makuyahundi from visiting her ex-husband’s place of residence.
Makuyahundi was also advised to seek advice on procedures to take concerning the sharing of family property.
