A BUDDING gospel artiste from Dimire in Mount Selinda has stormed the music industry with a bang by releasing gospel single laden with rich Ndau dialect. 29-year-old Jasper Nyabadza recently released a distinct but beautiful Ndau single titled “Buwe Rendaramo”, which is already receiving rave reviews on local radio stations, particularly on National FM. “I have a passion for gospel music. Singing is a powerful way to spread God’s message and I am raring to go. I am proud of being Ndau and I will continue giving thanks and praise to God through singing,” he said.
The husky-voiced Nyabadza said he developed a passion for music when he was still at Mount Selinda Primary School. He is self- employed and is determined to take music seriously and professionally. “I am inspired by gospel music veterans such as Mechanic Manyeruke and Pastor Charles Charamba. I wish to stage joint performances with these and other renowned artistes someday. I sing in Ndau because I grew up in Chipinge. My grandfather Wilbert Chibhaahlengwe inspired me to love Ndau and I speak it so fluently,” he said.
Nyabadza is assisted by three talented singers, Pauline Sithole, Rodney Juru and Patson Mafudza. The quartet has off late been singing in pentacostal churches.
He said he would soon hold live shows in Mutare, Harare and Chipinge.
“Our songs are played on National FM and I hope our very own Diamond FM will play them soon. In my single, “Buwe Rendaramo”, I encourage people to have faith in God and lean on him since he is our rock,” said the Harare-based talented composer.
