A MAN who could be described as a sex pervert stunned members of the public who were going about their business as he allegedly fondled a teenager’s buttocks and whispered into her ear that he loves her.
The incident occurred this week on Wednesday at around 7PM at the corner of Robert Mugabe Road and Fife Street while the teenage girl was heading home in the company of her aunt.
The court heard that when the minor, whose identity is withheld on ethical grounds, was walking behind her aunt when Boniface Mudimba (35) rushed up to her and reportedly fondled her behind. After that he allegedly grabbed her head and whispered into her ear that he loves her.
Shocked by the unsanctioned touch, the minor screamed for help prompting members of the public to intervene.
Sensing danger, Mudimba tried to sprint for his dear life but it was a little too late as he was caught a few metres from the scene.
The crowd meted out instant justice on him while they were taking him to the Bulawayo Central Police Station leading to his arrest.
Mudimba appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube facing a charge of Indecent assault as defined in section 67(1)(a)of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act .
He pleaded not guilty. He was remanded in custody to 28 March for commencement of trial.
