adminLONDON. — Danny Welbeck admits he’s been impressed with Arsenal’s performances this soccer season.
The Gunners sit second in the English Premier League table after 12 matches, level on points with Manchester City.
Arsenal’s impressive start to the season has seen them lose just twice in the league.
While they have also recorded an impressive home victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Unfortunately for Welbeck, he’s been unable to feature for his side this season as he continues to recover from a knee operation.
But that hasn’t stopped the England international watching his team-mates and he admits he’s been pleased with their displays so far.
“I’ve been impressed,” he told the club’s website. “I trained with them every single day when I was fit and you obviously appreciate every single player in their own ways.
“But when you watch the game from afar, and you know how difficult it is, some of the passes and vision, the play and goals, is really impressive.”
Welbeck has vowed to come back stronger, following his lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The England international has been out of action since the end of last season and has been recovering since a knee operation in September.
The 24-year-old admits he has found it difficult to not play a part in Arsenal’s campaign this season, but insists he is working hard to get back to full fitness.
“It’s slow and steady but it’s coming along,” Welbeck told Arsenal Player. “It’s difficult to see the lads when you’re still in the gym, doing double days, but once I get back out on the pitch and start running I will be much happier. It’s a difficult period for me but I’m looking forward to coming back strong.” — The Daily Express.
