GWEVEDZI has promised fireworks at the concert slated for Friday when they invade Theatre in the Park

Band spokesperson, Gladmore Bvuta, said:

“The band is prepared and excited to be performing on Friday.”

Rooftop Promotions assistant administrator, Mada Nepiyala, said:

“Theatre in the Park venue is ready for the concert and tickets are already available, we encourage the public to book their tickets any time between 9 am and 5 pm at our offices,” he said.

The concert is to be held from 7pm until late.

Admission is US$5 and tickets are being sold at Theatre in the Park offices located at the Harare Gardens.

The band was formerly known as Gwevedzi Afro Acoustics Band, and was formed in 2016, in Harare.

The band wants to harmonise the people of the world through music.

It consists of four members – Tinashe Masangudza (guitar), Wilfred Nikisi (bass), Nyasha Murada (lead vocals/mbira) and Keith Musena (drums).

They have performed at the same venue more than four times since October 2021.

Meanwhile, Theatre in the Park will be hosting jazz musician Jeys Marabini again after his performance last Friday.

The venue has a couple of culturally-themed events lined up for the culture month of May.
