Harare City head coach Try Ncube has expressed confidence in his side’s preparations ahead of the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League season set to start on Saturday.
Ncube said their expectations are high ahead of their opening fixture against CP Chemicals.
The match comes after adjustments that saw both Chingwere and Shamva Mine added to the league ahead of the new season.
In an interview, Ncube revealed that his team has been focusing on physical and mental conditioning while still working to find the right combinations.
“We have prepared well, and expectations are high. We have focused on the physical and mental aspects and we are still trying some combinations and hopefully next week we will be ready,” he said.
Acknowledging the competitiveness of the Northern Region Soccer League, Ncube made it clear the club’s ultimate ambition.
“We know it will be a tough season, Northern Region is very competitive, and like any other team, we are expecting to compete well and send the team where it deserves, PSL,” he added.
On integrating new and returning players, the coach noted that the process remains work in progress.
“We are still trying to gel the old and new players, and hopefully it will come right. Football is just the same, everyone starts from the same starting point.”
