Harare suburbs in diarrhoea scare

The city council yesterday denied it was pumping poor quality water, but promised to look into the matter.

Residents of Warren Park, Kuwadzana and Budiriro yesterday said many people had fallen ill and were passing worms in their stool.  A check at local clinics showed young children were the most affected.

In parts of Kuwadzana yesterday, residents were queueing at boreholes even though they had running water. They say tap water has contaminants and a discernible layer of sediment settles in any container after some time. –The Herald
