A HARARE woman says she is living in fear of her husband who constantly threatens her with death.
Tariro Faniso applied for a protection order against her husband, Batinos Faniso, accusing him of coercive control as well as verbal and physical abuse.
“He was recently released from prison for gender-based violence, and he insults and assaults me.
“He also accuses me of being a prostitute when I am greeted by parents of my students, and he has threatened to kill me on many occasions.
“I now hide kitchen knives because he would grab a knife whenever we fought.
In response, Batinos said:
“I made a mistake and I asked her to forgive me. I have learnt my lesson. I don’t want to hate her because I am the one who paid her school fees.”
Magistrate Rutendo Machingura granted Tariro the protection order.
