HARARE City coach Mark Harrison wants his men to end a miserable run by bouncing back to winning ways when they face champions FC Platinum in a Castle Lager Soccer League match at Rufaro this afternoon. The Sunshine Boys are coming from their fourth defeat of the season after they fell 0-1 at the hands of Bulawayo Chiefs at Luveve in Bulawayo on Saturday.
Harrison attributed the loss to some injuries in his camp.
“We are trying and we didn’t have much time to prepare for the next meeting against FC Platinum,” he said.
“Reality is what we need to improve as we started very well in the opening half of the season but somehow we had gone to sleep.
“We need to change the mindset of the players.
“I lost my goalkeeper and two centre-backs and that forced us to change our game plan.”
The team will be hoping that ‘keeper Ryan Harrison recovers from an injury.
Centre-back Hastings Chapusha is also struggling with injury.
Harare City are win-less in five games in which they have drawn four and lost one.
“I don’t know what we are lacking, we have to turn things around against FC Platinum, maybe if we push we will get something,” said Harrison.
“We are lacking the intensity, the guile, especially in the final third.”
FC Platinum will be out to complete a double over their opponents after they edged them 3-1 in the first leg.
Norman Mapeza and his men last lost to Harare City in 2016.
The champions have a four-point lead over Ngezi Platinum Stars who will be hosting struggling Shabanie Mine at Baobab this afternoon.
