Herentals in bid to delay Ngezi celebrations

ZIFA Northern Region Division One log leaders Ngezi Platinum say they will not take Herentals lightly when they meet the Harare side this afternoon at Baobab in Selous.

Ngezi Platinum need about four more wins to be crowned the champions. Assistant coach Jonathan Maguraushe said they will respect their opponents.

“We always take each game as it comes and we do not change our approach and the fixture is important for us as well,” Maguraushe said. We have been preparing hard for this encounter and we are looking at nothing short of three points when we meet Herentals.

“They are a good side but at this stage we cannot manage any slip-up as all the teams are fighting for something and they will be prepared. We have respect for them but we also need to win and that is what we expect tomorrow (today).

“We have a good support base at home and we are going to use that to our advantage as well.”

Herentals coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva said they were playing for pride.

“We are geared up for this game and the guys will be playing for pride and that exposure against the log leaders is important for the young players.

“Everyone has been training hard to be part of the team to play Ngezi as they want to become only the second team to win.

“We have a good side and we promise our opponents a tough encounter. We are looking forward to coming out with a positive result,” said Mutiwekuziva.

Herentals will miss the services of central defender Samuel Bangira who is serving a suspension.
