ZIMBABWE hitman Nyasha Mushekwi has continued his sensational goal-scoring form in the Chinese Super League to inspire his Zhejiang Professional side to the AFC Champions League.
Zhejiang faced Shanghai Shenhua in a league clash on Monday with Mushekwi continuing his impressive run in front of goals.
The striker struck the opener for the visitors after 74 minutes before Matheus Nascimento converted from the spot to double his side’s lead.
Mushekwi now has 16 goals from 27 games, with his red-hot form seeing the former Sundowns star score six goals from his last six matches to fire Professional into third place on the standings.
Five games remain in the CSL and with his form, it appears likely that the 35-year-old will reach 20 goals.
He is among the top five leading scorers in the league with Brazilian forward Marcao leading with 23 goals.
Mushekwi – who is defying age and sending reminders about his scoring abilities – has already been backed to play until he is 40.
Last season he scored 23 as the club won promotion from the Chinese League One.
Since leaving his homeland to play in the PSL (2010/11) at Sundowns, Mushekwi has surpassed double figures on nine occasions in spells in South Africa, Sweden, and China. – KickOff.
